About us

Founded in 1997 by David Hauptmann and Daniel Kampa, the gallery has been located Gemeindestrasse 73 near Hottingerplatz since 2004. This is only one tram stop from the Kunsthaus Zürich, one of Switzerland’s most important art museums, and less than ten minutes by tram from the Zürich Main Station.

Caricature as Art, the art of Caricature.

The gallery specialized in graphic art, cartoons and world-famous illustrators. Over the past decades, these areas have increasingly been accepted as seriuous art forms.

Apart from world-famous illustrators such as Sempé, Tomi Ungerer, Paul Flora, whom we exhibit at regular intervals, the gallery also exhibits young illustrators and figurative paintings.

The gallery is managed by Ms. Bozena Huser, with the help of Laura Munzel and Klaudia Kampa.

Apart from art dealership, the gallery also advises art collectors and museum curators. Together with Daniel Keel, Daniel Kampa publishes the series “Diogenes Cartoon Classics” at Diogenes Verlg, which includes books illustrated by Loriot, F.K. Waechter, Chaval, Tomi Ungerer and Sempé. Future editions will feature Edward Gorey and Paul Flora, among others.

In cooperation with the gallery, the “Karikatur & Cartoon Museum Basel” exhibited over one hundred works of Tomi Ungerer in October 2006, on the occasion of the artists’ 75th birthday.
