About Sempé

Jean-Jacques Sempé is a French artist. Born in 1932 in Bordeaux, he is widely considered to be one of the leading cartoonists of our time. His series "Le petit Nicolas", which he drew starting in the 1950s, made him world-famous. Since the late 1970s, he has contributed over 50 cover illustrations and countelss cartoons to The New Yorker magazine.
